Would You Risk It All For One Moment?

His kiss left her own lips tasting like the red hot Jolly Rancher that he'd been sucking on before they stole this moment like a thief in the night.  To her this moment was surreal to him this moment was a long time coming.  After almost four years of long accidental stares and four years of not so accidental bumps and brushes in tight spaces, they finally decided to come together.  What had taken so long for this moment; she had the obligations of a sister and he had obligations of a husband, but now none of that even mattered because the sexual tension was so thick between them that it could no longer be ignored and for this single moment they decided to put their obligations aside and vowed to finally enjoy what they have been denying for so long.

After the first kiss, she looked away, bashful....why when they'd known each other for so many years.  Why was she shy now?  He was still the same guy who offered to  repair her bumper when she hit a telephone pole, he was the same guy who hosted Super Bowl parties and made the best buffalo wings and he was the same guy who looked her in the eyes when he said his wedding vows.   What was her heart pounding in her chest so viloently for? Why were her palms sweaty and throat dry? What was actually happening?

Placing a hand underneath her chin, he tilted her head slightly as to look into her eyes, searching for something familiar that he had lost a long time ago. The fire that was in her eyes was so unfamiliar to him though, he'd always seen her as just a friend and his wife's sister, but never as a lover.  What was he doing here in this place? How did it ever come to this? Should he just turn to walk away or could he learn to live with what he has wanted to do for so many years.  His wife's skin was soft as silk, but why did her's feel like cashmere? His wife always smelled of roses and musk, but why did the scent of jasmine and vanilla fill his nostrils now?  Questioning rather  it was love or was he just turned on by what was different and new he looked in her familiar eyes once more and asked if it were so wrong why did it feel so right?

Embracing her even tighter he pulled her to his body, touching all of the hidden places that he wanted to explore in greater detail.  Her breathing was deep and wanting, but the sounds of the night were in her ear making her scared to go any further.

"It is your anniversary." she breathed as his lips made a red hot trail from her neck to the little bit of cleavage that she dared to show. "We have to get back in to your guests before people start to wonder."

Her mouth spoke, but her body didn't respond as she never pulled away from his embrace and he wasn't showing any signs of letting her go.

"This is so wrong, we shouldn't be here." she protested.

"I want to be here and I don't care about that party." he replied.

"I don't want to hurt her."

"I'm tired of looking at you from across the room and I don't know how much longer I can deny these feelings that I have for you."

"So what do we do, act on them and risk everything?" she asked as she tried to pull away from him but their own desires kept them together.

"I'm willing to risk it all."

"But what about her? Are you willing to risk losing your family and your wife over this one moment?"

For the first time since they stole this moment away from their guests he loosened his embrace and she could tell that it hurt him to do so. "Go." he spoke. "Go back inside before we go to far."

As she turned to leave, she noticed her sister coming out of the house and a knowing look wiped away the loving smile that once covered her face as she saw the wrinkle in her husbands once fresh blue shirt, the bulge in his slacks and the look of anguish written all over his face while desire rested in his eyes.  Looking to her very own sister who wore the same wrinkle in her dress and hurt in her eyes.

I'm Not Crazy I Just Enjoy Talking To Myself

Hey everyone, while at the gym today I brought alone my handy-dandy best friend, my voice recorder.  Having a voice recorder is essential for a writer, but for me it is a MUST.  Without my voice recorder I wouldn't get any writing done because I'd forget every great idea that I had and when the creative or inspirational bugs bite me my voice recorder is there ready to take it all in.
I am a mother of six very active children and sometimes I don't have the time to actually sit down and write for 8 hours a day (I wish).  I have meals to cook, clothes to wash, errands to run, noses to wipe, boo-boos to kiss and homework to check so in between all of that I have to still remember to shower, use the bathroom oh and brush my teeth.  My digital voice recorder stays in my pocket and I like it because it is small so it stays in my pocket so whenever I have an idea I grab the recorder and record my thoughts at that exact moment.  I have recorded dialog while standing in line at the grocery store, I have recorded sex scenes while sitting on the toilet, I've recorded plot ideas while on the treadmill.  My voice recorder holds so much creativity that I think it is the the right side of my brain.
My sister hates my recorder because she says that it looks like I'm talking to myself, but I don't think it is any worse than people walking around with blue-teeth (yes, I said teeth) stuck in their ears.  My sister is a nurse, not a writer, she has zero creativity so of course she doesn't understand how important it is to capture the idea or inspirational moment before you lose it.  She feels that it would be better if I wrote my ideas down, but I am not always around a pen or a piece of paper and I am sure I'd lose my notes during the chaos of my day so thanks sis, but I think that I will stick with my recorder.
So if you see me in the gym, grocery store, bank, one of my kid's schools or at a doctor's appointment and I'm talking to myself, please don't worry I'm most likely on my voice recorder or maybe I am, in fact just talking to myself.

TTFN!
